Good practices for importing files

The Calculation Memory is a powerful tool available on the Financial Modeling which allows that calculation rationales and spreadsheets created on other tools in xls e csv formats can be used for constructing metrics, adjustments and budgets in the platform.

However, often when creating new spreadsheets and work folders, auxiliary tabs arise which are not effectively used on the final observations and are not relevant for constructing this data, unnecessarily increasing the size of the file that shall become a Calculation Memory. In addition, a few visual tools commonly used in spreadsheet are not necessary in the platform given the availability of other modules, thereby making the prior removal of these tools more efficient. Such as for instance, graphs, widgets, imagens, textboxes and sparklines.

Given that, it is possible to view below a list a recommended stages that increase the spreadsheets upload efficiency in the Calculation Memory:

1. Remove all the visual items such as graphs, images and sparklines

To remove a graph, just select “Clear” on the Editing part of the Excel Initial Page guide

2. Delete columns and lines with no amount

If any column or line is totally without information, it is a good practice to delete it. After the upload in the platform it shall be possible to create it again.

The use of external links impairs the processing of files in the Calculation Memory; as such, it is necessary to use this data only as amounts.

6. Avoid unnecessary tabs for the context of Memory

If there are tabs on your file which shall not be used directly for constructing the budget or which may be found in another manner in the platform, delete all the information present in these tabs, excluding them completely.
