The Chart of Accounts is a list of a company’s accounting accounts and the information related to them. This functionality can be found in Upload Information and can be accessed by clicking on select on the top of the screen.

The main objective of this functionality is to consolidate all accounts from the same Economic Group in a single screen, helping you to carry out actions on the accounting accounts.

The actions carried out on the Chart of Accounts screen will reflect in all modules containing that accounting account.

Actions in a Chart of Accounts

  1. The accounts may be of the Analytic (A) or Synthetic (S) type. To alternate between the accounts type just click on a letter A or S.
  2. Code and name of the accounting account
  3. Classification options for accounting accounts: Assets, Liabilities or Result and the corresponding Management structures
  4. The pendencies filter joins all pending accounts to be classified more easily;
  5. Replicating the logic of synthetic accounts
  6. Action filters for Type and Classification/Structure
  7. Selection box for mass actions

Code and name of the accounting account

This item contains the name of the account and its code according to the information you imported. By passing the cursor over such information, an input is shown around each element, and by clicking, it is possible to edit them, as shown in the animation below:

Clicking with the right mouse button you have the option de unify accounting accounts and Replicate the Logic, in case it is used in the synthetic account.

Classification and structure

The classification is divided between Assets (A), Liabilities (L) and Results (R) and to classify your account, just click on the corresponding letter. Once selected the structures will be shown automatically, following the definition for the Management Structures module. If a structure is disabled, it means that it was not yet classified.

You have two ways to choose an account structure, identified by the switch beside structures. You can choose the autocomplete icon and type part of the name or choose to find it in the list, activating the icon list.

Analytical accounts require classification. The yellow bar at the end of the screen indicates that there are pendencies, that is, some analytical account lacks classification and structure. Clicking on the icon of the bar, those accounts will be filtered automatically.

Replicate the logic of synthetic accounts

At the end of the synthetic Accounts line, is an option to replicate logic, indicated by the icon. By clicking on the button, the classification and structure of the synthetic account is replicated for all analytical accounts below it, up to the next synthetic account. For this reason, this icon only appears in synthetic accounts with analytic accounts below it.

Filters

Beside the titles, in Type and Classification and Classification/Structure there is a filter icon.

The platform standard is to show all accounting accounts, by using these filters it is possible to view only those selected.

Mass Actions

The selection boxes can be found to the left at the front of each line, indicated by the icon . By clicking on them, the lines are selected and their actions disabled. There are classification and unification options between Assets (A), Liabilities (L) and Results (R) and the button Unify accounting accounts, as in the example below. After selecting the accounts, you can classify them in a single action, simply by clicking one of the letters A, L or R.

Every action carried out on the Chart of Accounts will reflect in the modules in which that account is included, and therefore will impact the Financial Statements.
